Kids Couples’ Costumes for Every Age

From first costumes to first crushes, kids and teens love couples’ costumes and the chance to dress up with a buddy. Here are some of the coolest, most age-appropriate couples’ costumes for kids.
(Young) Nemo and Dory
Though it’s been years since an Ellen DeGeneres-voiced Blue Tang named Dory encouraged kids to “just keep swimming,” Finding Nemo is still a perennial favorite in every family household. Siblings, twins, or daycare pals will delight in colorful, undersea costumes.
(Growing Up) Devil and Angel
While this classic look might seem like a snooze, older kids will have a blast getting into character. Style-savvy girls and boys can add accessories to red and black or ethereal white outfits, giving them a chance to feel in control of their costume. For most kids, having their own choices to own the look will be half the fun.
(Pre-Teen) Harry Potter with Ron or Hermione
Gryffindor robes are a cinch to stitch for parents on a budget and making them yourself gives you a chance to customize to your pre-teen’s content. While most kids love the idea of dressing up as Harry and Hermione, many kids at the “age of me” will adore getting Hogwarts robes personally embroidered. Any kid can feel magical for a night with the right robes and a good wand, so give your Potter duo a number of wands (sticks from the yard) to choose from.
(Teenager) Rock Stars
Stuck between the age of Trick-or-Treating and the age of the glamorous holiday bash, teens want to play along with the holiday, but look cool doing it. Search the web or magazines for pictures of their favorite rock stars and offer to introduce them to some of your own favorite rock legends. Dating teens can pick from famous rock couples like John and Yoko, June and Johnny, and for bubble gum’s sake, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. Want your teens to have a happening Halloween while staying safe? Host a rock star Guitar Hero party in your own living room and don’t be surprised if your son or daughter asks to raid your closet for retro looks. Try to take it as a compliment.
